A blog about the complicated, frustrating, occasionally very rewarding business of trying to keep going as a creative person, in a world not always friendly towards the creative fire.
Graduated from art school in 2000 & have been keeping going creatively ever since - although sometimes by my bootstraps. I write fiction & poetry (& this). I draw & paint, & I cook, & I travel as often as I can. I know the world is not always friendly or conducive to the creative life or to the open heart, so I'm just working on keeping my inner fire alight, hoping that people like me can all help keep the bigger light burning too. May we all have the good fortune to enjoy health, happiness & creative fulfilment!
This was my lunch on my last day in Crete - Mythos beer, tzatziki, fresh sesame-seed bread and a vegetable frittata... Good, simple, tasty food, delicious, straightforward and honest. Eaten sitting under a vine arbour, a few yards from the sea. Oh, memories...
Just 3 years and I went to visit last summer for 5 days. I actually never thought I'll miss it that much... maybe is not even the island itself. Maybe is just my youth that I'm missing.. Soon I'll be back to Greece and I'll probably complain about missing UK
