A blog about the complicated, frustrating, occasionally very rewarding business of trying to keep going as a creative person, in a world not always friendly towards the creative fire.
Graduated from art school in 2000 & have been keeping going creatively ever since - although sometimes by my bootstraps. I write fiction & poetry (& this). I draw & paint, & I cook, & I travel as often as I can. I know the world is not always friendly or conducive to the creative life or to the open heart, so I'm just working on keeping my inner fire alight, hoping that people like me can all help keep the bigger light burning too. May we all have the good fortune to enjoy health, happiness & creative fulfilment!
The 'fridge at work is on the blink; between last night and this morning, my half-eaten tub of hummous went off, developing a strange new taste and an oddly unpleasant pétillant quality. I was left to make a lunch of toast and black olives. Luckily in this heat my normally very healthy appetite fails and falters, or I would have felt slightly hard-done-by.
Going home to sweat in a different building from this one...

It must be particularly warm in London; it's bad enough up here in the north of England.
